The first beer of many. We are starting this blog to let people who like unique beers know where to go or what to get. Our main focus are IPA's (India Pale Ale's) and Stout's. Regis (me) and Justin are going to be the reviewers of the beer's we end up stumbling upon.
The way we judge a beer is by drinking two or more of the same. One beer can just excite our taste bud's or ruin the taste we previously had in our pallets. The reason we drink two, is to feel and taste the actual impact it provides. Unfortunately food's we eat and weather we feel have a big impact on our evaluation of the beer we drink. We can also advise what to eat prior to drinking a certain beer or what kind of beers to drink back to back.
Today I will evaluate a beer I drank once a long time ago.
Advised by one of my environmental science teachers on a random trip to Blacksburg, VA. I took the plunge and decided why not.
I had this beer right after a Two Hearted Ale from MI (Great beer btw, I advise you give it a shot). Fortunately it did not mask my taste bud's enough to hinder the great smooth taste this beer offers.
Small 471 Batch (Breckenridge) (Colorado) is one of the smoothest IPA's I have laid my hands on.
This review is from today. Justin and I went to whole foods in Reston, VA and bought ourselves a 6 pack of this great juice (i call thick beer juice) for $14+ a 6 pack. Well worth the financial pain, trust me.
At first you feel the froth, then the flavor digs it's way in into your taste bud's as the froth fizzes on your tongue. The feeling is as pleasing as the taste.
No real flower bite associated with IPA's but a nice flower taste. You can taste the hops fully not sharply. Almost like a broad spectrum of flavor.
This Beer is 9.2%, and mind you I drank two of them in 20 minutes. The buzz is as amazing as the taste.
Overall I give this beer a B+
I could never finish a 6 pack, but I could pound a few and chill on another pair enjoying every moment.
